About Us
Hi, I’m Alecia a certified practising speech language pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia, I am an exclusively paediatric speech language pathologist. I completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at the University of Newcastle in 2009 and have over 10 years of experience working in early intervention, early childhood settings, schools, community health and private practice, both here in Australia and in the United Kingdom.
I am a part time mobile practitioner who visits children and their families for assessment and therapy sessions in the comfort of their chosen environment (e.g. home, school, daycare, preschool). I have extensive experience with:
Children under 7
Speech sound disorders
Early languge development including preschool and school aged language
Literacy – I am an approved Sounds Write provider
Complex communication needs
I am also committed to multi-disciplinary assessment/intervention and neurodiversity affirming practice. I value the importance of client connection, family centred practice and developing relationships with my clients. As a mother of three young children, I have valuable experience in being a parent and managing intervention to fit in with daily family life and everyday routines.
I have a busy household with 3 young children, 2 dogs and a cat. I love spending quality time in the outdoors with my family riding bikes, going to the beach or for a walk. In the rare quiet times (what are these again?) I enjoy a coffee or glass of wine and some delicious food.
